Deutsche Bahn Luncurkan Rangkaian ICE 4 Ke-50
[5/10] Operator KA Jerman Deutsche Bahn (DB) pada Jumat (2/10) baru saja meresmikan rangkaian kereta cepat ICE 4 ke-50 mereka. Rangkaian kereta cepat ini mereka beri nama “Metropole Ruhr”.
Dilansir dari rilis pers DB, acara peresmian ini dihadiri oleh Ronald Pofalla, Anggota Dewan Infrastruktur di DB, Hendrik Wüst, Menteri Perhubungan North Rhine-Westphalia, Michael Peterson, Ketua Angkutan Jarak Jauh DB, dan Michael Peter, CEO dari Siemens Mobility. Lukas Termath selaku pemenang sayembara juga hadir untuk menyaksikan peresmian ini.
Peresmian ini unik karena bukan pihak DB yang memberi nama rangkaian ini, tetapi masyarakat North Rhine-Westphalia dalam sayembara oleh stasiun radio WDR2. Terdapat sejumlah nama wilayah yang dijadikan pilihan untuk menamakan rangkaian ini, yaitu Niederrhein, Ostwestfalen-Lippe, Siegen-Wittgenstein, Bergisches Land, Eifel, Sauerland, Münsterland, Rhineland and the Ruhr Metropolis.
Pihak DB sendiri telah mengeluarkan investasi 8,5 miliar Euro dalam ekspansi armada jarak jauhnya. Mereka juga mengklaim pihaknya mempunyai kehadiran yang kuat di tengah kalangan North Rhine-Westphalia, di mana finishing ICE 4 dilakukan di pabrik Siemens Krefeld. Sedangkan proses ujicoba dilakukan di pusat ujicoba di Wegberg-Wildenrath. Kedua lokasi ini berada di North Rhine-Westphalia. Oleh karena ini, Direktur Infrastruktur DB Ronald Pofalla mengklaim nama “Metropole Ruhr” ini merepresentasikan North Rhine-Westphalia.
Secara keseluruhan DB menerima 137 rangkaian ICE 4 dalam berbagai konfigurasi. Selain 50 rangkaian stamformasi 12 kereta, juga terdapat rangkaian stamformasi 7 kereta yang akan digunakan pada pergantian Gapeka Desember mendatang. (RED/IHF)
