KA Gumarang, Ranggajati, Mataram, Ciremai, dan Sancaka Utara adalah KA campuran kelas bisnis dan eksekutif. KA Logawa adalah KA campuran kelas ekonomi dan bisnis. Sedang KA Malabar adalah KA campuran kelas bisnis, ekonomi, dan eksekutif.
Sementara di wilayah Sumatera, kelas bisnis masih tersisa pada KA Sindang Marga, Prabu Jaya, dan Sribilah. Selain itu, beberapa kereta api tambahan yang berjalan pada waktu sibuk juga masih dioperasikan sebagai kelas campuran yang memuat kereta bisnis.
Tapi tahukah Anda, kalau kelas bisnis sempat menjadi salah satu kelas primadona pada masanya? Ada banyak kereta api yang dulu kelas campurannya membawa kelas bisnis, atau justru malah hanya memiliki kelas bisnis. Kereta api seperti Sancaka, Harina, Lodaya, Limeks Sriwijaya, dan Mutiara Timur adalah beberapa contoh KA yang pernah beroperasi sebagai KA kelas campuran yang membawa lebih banyak kereta kelas bisnis.
Beberapa perjalanan KA juga dikenal hanya membawa kelas bisnis dalam sebagian besar karirnya sebagai kereta bisnis, yaitu KA Senja dan Fajar Utama Yogyakarta, lalu Senja Utama Solo dan Mutiara Selatan. Kereta api yang disebutkan terakhir baru menjadi kelas campuran bisnis dan eksekutif menjelang akhir karir mereka sebagai kelas bisnis pada tahun 2017-2018.
Di masa lalu juga terdapat kereta api full bisnis seperti KA Senja dan Fajar Utama Semarang, Senja Singosari, dan Jayabaya, ataupun kereta api campuran seperti Parahyangan yang sudah tidak beroperasi lagi. Beberapa kereta api yang full eksekutif seperti KA Purwojaya, Gajayana, Turangga, dan Bangunkarta sempat memiliki kelas campuran bisnis dan eksekutif.
Dalam tulisan bertajuk #BisnisLaris ini, Tim REDaksi akan mengajak pembaca untuk bernostalgia bersama akan kenangan bersama kereta api kelas bisnis. Sementara bagi pembaca yang belum pernah menaiki kereta kelas bisnis, mari cari tahu lebih tentang kelas perjalanan yang satu ini.
Kereta Kelas Bisnis
Sedari awal, kereta kelas bisnis ditempatkan sebagai kelas kedua setelah eksekutif. Hal ini dicerminkan dari kode sarana mereka yaitu K2, dan di masa lalu bagian bawah jendela toilet juga terdapat kode angka “2”. Akan tetapi, kelas bisnis memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan dibandingkan kelas eksekutif.
Pertama, di masa lalu kereta bisnis tidak mempunyai AC. Terdapat kipas angin dan jendela yang dapat dibuka untuk ventilasi. AC pada kereta kelas bisnis baru ditambahkan setelah mulai dilakukan ACnisasi massal pada kereta yang awalnya tidak memiliki AC.
Kedua, bangku pada kereta bisnis meskipun bisa dibalik arah seperti kereta eksekutif, tetapi tidak dapat reclining. Bangku ini dapat dibalik arahnya cukup dengan hanya mendorong sandaran bangku saja. Meskipun demikian, terdapat beberapa bangku di bagian ujung yang jika dibalik arahnya, akan memberikan legroom yang sangat sempit.
Kereta bisnis pada umumnya memiliki kapasitas 64 tempat duduk. Meskipun demikian, di masa lalu terdapat kereta api kelas bisnis plus dengan kapasitas tempat duduk hanya 52, seperti kereta eksekutif satwa. Kereta ini dahulu beroperasi di layanan KA Turangga dan kemudian Gajayana. Setelah itu, kereta ini kemudian kursinya diganti menjadi pada umumnya kursi kereta bisnis. Kereta bekas bisnis plus ini dapat dikenali dengan rak bagasi yang mirip dengan kereta eksekutif.
Livery kelas bisnis mengalami beberapa kali perubahan. Di masa PERUMKA kereta ini memiliki livery biru-hijau. Lalu di masa awal PT KAI, kereta ini memiliki livery striping kuning gading, sebelum berubah menjadi striping biru-hijau-kuning. Livery ini kemudian digantikan dengan livery “Pecut” dengan pintu abu-abu, sebelum berganti lagi menjadi livery seperti kereta ekonomi mild steel.
Kereta Komuter Kelas Bisnis
Selain kereta jarak jauh, terdapat kereta komuter yang merupakan sarana kelas bisnis. Kereta ini di masanya dapat dicirikan dengan kodenya yaitu KD2-xxxxx ataupun K2 3 xx xx. Dahulu sarana seperti ini dapat dijumpai di beberapa layanan KRD seperti Bumi Geulis, Kaligung, dan Prambanan Ekspres. Sebelumnya juga terdapat KRL kelas bisnis dengan kode KL2, tetapi KRL kelas ini sudah lama menghilang dari lintas.
Interior KRD kelas bisnis ini cukup beragam. Ada beberapa KRD kelas bisnis yang menggunakan kursi semi-cross, dan ada juga yang benar-benar menggunakan kursi yang dapat dibalik seperti kereta bisnis biasa. KRD kelas bisnis yang menggunakan kursi yang dapat dibalik seperti kereta bisnis di antaranya adalah KRD Bumi Geulis dan Kaligung Bisnis.
Berdasarkan pengamatan Tim REDaksi, KRD Bumi Geulis adalah salah satu armada KD2 yang cukup unik saat berdinas. Armada Bumi Geulis mempunyai dua kelompok dengan ciri yang berbeda. Unit yang hanya mempunyai dua pintu adalah armada yang menggunakan kursi kereta bisnis biasa. Sedangkan unit dengan tiga pintu adalah armada yang menggunakan semi-cross seat seperti aslinya.
Selain itu, lampu depan pada KRD Bumi Geulis juga mempunyai beberapa perbedaan. Armada yang mempunyai tiga pintu semuanya memiliki lampu depan bawah. Sedang armada dengan dua pintu hanya punya lampu depan bawah untuk kereta yang diperuntukkan sebagai kereta paling ujung.
Selain itu juga terdapat beberapa KA jarak dekat yang menggunakan kereta kelas bisnis. Seperti misalnya KA Sidomukti yang dahulu berjalan pada akhir pekan di rute Solo Balapan-Yogyakarta dengan menggunakan rangkaian idle KA Senja Utama Solo. Selain itu, beberapa kereta api seperti KRD Surabaya-Bangil juga terkadang menggunakan kereta kelas bisnis jika rangkaian KRDnya tidak beroperasi.
Kenangan Bersama Kelas Bisnis
Dengan harga yang relatif murah pada masanya tetapi dengan bangku yang relatif lebih nyaman dari kereta kelas ekonomi, tidak sedikit orang yang menjadi pengguna setia kelas bisnis. Selama eksistensi kelas bisnis, kenangan bersamanya juga telah ada banyak.
Salah satu yang menurut Tim REDaksi paling berkesan adalah pada saat mengikuti acara sad ride KA Parahyangan pada 2010 lalu. Perjalanan ini dilakukan oleh para railfans untuk menikmati hari-hari terakhir KA Parahyangan beroperasi sebelum dilebur dengan Argo Gede.
Sebagai salah satu KA kelas bisnis yang namanya melegenda, para railfans yang mengikuti sad ride ini cukup antusias saat mengikuti acara ini.
Selain itu, pada tahun 2012 juga dilaksanakan joyride dengan KRD Bumi Geulis. Perjalanan ini menggunakan layanan KA Bumi Geulis Tambahan yang beroperasi pada saat angkutan lebaran. Hal ini adalah momen langka karena pada umumnya KA Bumi Geulis hanya beroperasi satu kali PP sehari. Terlebih pada akhir 2012, KRD Bumi Geulis justru berhenti beroperasi.
Yang Diganti, dan Yang Bertahan
Seiring berjalannya waktu, kereta kelas bisnis mulai diganti dengan kelas ekonomi AC mulai dari 2012. KA Senja dan Fajar Utama Semarang serta KA Senja Singosari menjadi kereta api yang terimbas penggantian ini. Mereka digantikan oleh KA Menoreh dan KA Majapahit yang beroperasi di rute yang sama. KA Senja Singosari langsung diganti KA Majapahit pada tahun 2012, sedang KA Senja dan Fajar Utama Semarang baru diganti penuh oleh Menoreh pada 2014.
Selanjutnya pada tahun 2016 KA Senja dan Fajar Utama Yogyakarta serta Mutiara Selatan diganti oleh kereta ekonomi buatan 2016. Akan tetapi, banyak dari pengguna yang kemudian mengeluhkan sempitnya jarak bangku dan tegaknya kursi pada kereta baru ini. Keluhan ini cukup banyak sehingga kereta-kereta ini sempat dikembalikan menjadi kereta api kelas bisnis, dan kereta ekonomi 2016nya dialihkan ke kereta api lain seperti Argo Parahyangan.
Masa depan Kereta Kelas Bisnis
Peran kereta kelas bisnis di banyak perjalanan KA berakhir ketika sarana yang digunakan berubah menjadi kereta eksekutif dan ekonomi premium stainles steel.
Kereta ekonomi premium yang menggantikan kereta kelas bisnis kali ini berbeda dengan keluaran 2016. Meskipun konfigurasinya mirip, tetapi kursinya dapat reclining dan jarak kaki telah disesuaikan.
