Sama seperti KAI, KCI, ataupun MRT, LRT Jakarta juga memiliki simulator untuk pelatihan masinis. Lantas gimana sih kelihatannya simulator yang digunakan LRT Jakarta?
Simulator yang digunakan oleh LRT Jakarta ditempatkan di ruangan khusus di Dipo Pegangsaan Dua. Meski keretanya buatan Korea Selatan, simulatornya sendiri dibuat di Indonesia oleh PT LEN Industri.
Ukuran simulator LRT Jakarta sendiri lebih kecil dari yang digunakan oleh KCI dan MRT Jakarta.
Suasana di dalam simulator dibuat semirip mungkin dengan keadaan di dalam kabin asli. Meja layanan di dalam simulator dibuat semirip mungkin dengan meja layanan asli LRV.
Hampir semua panel yang ada ditempatkan dalam layar LCD seperti speedometer, voltmeter, amperemeter, radio komunikasi, train monitoring, dan CCTV untuk mensimulasikan situasi kereta. Sejumlah komponen seperti klakson dan buka-tutup pintu digantikan dengan tombol.
Tak seperti rangkaian KRL MRT maupun KCI yang menempatkan tuas kendali di kiri, di simulator LRV Jakarta tuas kendali kereta ditempatkan di sebelah kanan.
Selain simulator lengkap, terdapat pula 4 unit komputer yang dapat digunakan sebagai simulator.
Hasil simulasi yang dilakukan nantinya akan ditampilkan di komputer admin. Data dari hasil simulasi yang dilakukan nantinya akan diserahkan kepada supervisor yang nantinya dijadikan patokan penilaian terhadap masinis apakah nantinya ia layak atau tidak untuk berdinas.
Sayangnya tak seperti simulator MRT dan KCI, simulator LRT Jakarta tidak memiliki efek seperti guncangan maupun getaran untuk mensimulasikan keadaan kereta sebenarnya secara detail.
