[22/7]. Hari ini adalah hari di mana Kartu Multi Trip (KMT) generasi pertama menemui ajalnya. PT KCI mulai menghentikan penggunaan KMT generasi pertama dengan 4 digit nomor seri pertama “1001”. Hal tersebut dilakukan oleh KCI agar dapat mengintegrasikan penggunaan KMT pada moda angkutan umum lainnya, mengingat tahun depan LRT Jabodebek dan MRT Jakarta mulai beroperasi.
Penumpang yang memiliki KMT dengan 4 digit nomor seri pertama “1001” diminta untuk menukarkan kartunya dengan KMT Felica di loket stasiun. Dan Sabtu malam KCI memulai proses “eksekusi mati” bagi KMT generasi pertama. Mesin gate di seluruh Jabodetabek disetting ulang agar tidak dapat menerima KMT generasi pertama. Namun ternyata hal yang terjadi tidak sesuai rencana.
Semenjak pagi tadi hingga malam hari pengguna KMT dan kartu bank tidak dapat tap in di stasiun. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kesalahan instalasi yang membuat mesin gate tidak dapat membaca semua jenis kartu bersaldo seperti KMT dan kartu bank. Penumpang yang bingung terpaksa beralih ke kartu THB untuk sementara.
Antrian panjang pembelian THB terlihat di sejumlah stasiun. Di Stasiun Bogor antrian panjang terlihat mengular di mesin penjualan THB. Hal serupa juga terjadi di Stasiun Bojong Gede. Antrian penumpang mengular di loket stasiun. Kebanyakan dari mereka adalah penumpang pengguna KMT dan kartu bank yang sedang menikmati libur di Hari Minggu. Antrian terjadi baik bagi mereka yang hendak membeli ataupun me-refund kartu.

Di Stasiun Juanda kondisinya tidak jauh lebih baik. Antrian panjang penumpang juga terlihat di mesin penjualan tiket. Kebanyakan dari mereka adalah warga yang baru saja berjalan-jalan ke sejumlah objek wisata seperti Monas.
Guna mengantisipasi antrian yang jauh lebih parah pada hari kerja, KCI rencananya akan kembali menggunakan sistem tiket kertas untuk perjalanan KRL. Tiket kertas akan digunakan selama proses upgrade berlangsung mulai Senin besok (23/7) hingga selesai. Hal tersebut disampaikan oleh pihak KCI dalam rilis resminya.
Selama proses upgrade berlangsung, sistem tarif per kilometer tidak berlaku. Tarif kereta dipatok rata Rp 3000 baik jauh maupun dekat. Sama seperti sebelum sistem tiket elektronik diberlakukan, penumpang dapat membeli tiket kertas di loket stasiun dan ketika masuk maupun keluar stasiun tiket harus diperlihatkan kepada petugas.
Bagi kalian yang hendak berangkat kerja ataupun kuliah ada baiknya berangkat lebih pagi untuk mengantisipasi kalian terlambat karena mengantri di loket. Atau jika malas antri ada baiknya untuk mencari moda transportasi lainnya.
